This species has been reared from the oothecae of Blatta orientalis (Blattidae: Blattinae) (Edmunds, 1952; Edmunds, 1953). Periplaneta americana (Blattidae: Blattinae) is another potential yet unconfirmed host (Fahringer, 1922; Klein, 1933; Cameron, 1957; Brown, 1973).
Comments
Prosevania fuscipes likely originates from Africa and has been dispersed to Europe and North America. This wasp is found in most urban areas of the northeastern USA, especially where its prey, Blatta cockroaches, can be found.
biogeographic range
Cities from as far north as Boston, south to Raleigh, NC, west to Ohio, but likely in other cities as well. Possibly found in South America, but this remains unconfirmed.
